Today, Omega is one of the leading and remarkable luxury watch brands in the world. You will always be in awe of its high precision and high-quality timepieces.

Special Trivia

Did you know that Omega Speedmaster Professional, also known as the “Moonwatch,” was worn during the first American spacewalk as part of NASA’s Gemini 4 mission? It was the first watch worn by an astronaut walking on the Moon during the Apollo 11 mission. The watch remains as one of the few watches qualified by NASA for spaceflight and is still the only one so qualified for EVA.

Omega’s New Omega Special Watches

In 1957, Omega released three timepieces. These were the Seamaster 300, the Railmaster, and the Speedmaster. It was iconic in the watch industry and greatly loved by many watch-enthusiasts. Fast forward to  2017, Omega released a special 60th Anniversary edition of each model, and it is still taking the watch market by storm! Let us go through these Omega Special edition watches, shall we?

1. Seamaster 300

The latest edition Seamaster 300 continues to hold the integrity of the classic version. Only limited to 3,557 pieces, the watch is emanated from the CK2913 and exudes the quintessential Naïad sign on the crown besides the 1957 Seahorse placed at the back of the case.

Along with its black aluminum bezel, this special edition watch features Omega’s Master Chronometer collection and its powerful movement caused by the caliber 8806 automatic.

Its crystal case comes with a domed scratch-resistant sapphire crystal with anti-reflective treatment on both sides. And we also can’t miss its water-resistance aspect! This one is unquestionably a beauty!

2. Railmaster

Like the other special edition collections, the new Railmaster is also limited. If you are familiar with the classic CK2914 watch, this new special release looked precisely like it. You will see the same case and design, just with improvements to its anti-magnetic properties along with a technically advanced movement that has a chronometer certification too. It exquisitely sports the striking black tropical dial complete with retro, recessed indexes filled with Super-LumiNova.

The re-edition mechanism also was upgraded to a whole new level, 15 times more than the original version with Omega’s modern caliber 8806. And the same as other pieces in this series, this watch has been cased inside brushed and polished stainless steel and possesses sapphire crystals and hesalite glasses protecting all dials. Its subtle, laser engraved Omega logo brings out the watch’s retroelement as well, which adds elegance to its overflowing fine visual.

3. Speedmaster

Last on the list, but certainly not the least, the Speedmaster has become the most popular and loved in this series. You must have heard about the “Broad Arrow,” which is the first Speedmaster. It was the first chronograph wristwatch in the world that holds the tachymeter which is mounted on the bezel rather than simply printing it on the watch dial. The 2017 Speedmaster gives justice and integrity to the authenticity of the original design.

Omega’s very own Speedmaster is run by the legendary 1861 caliber and is enclosed in brushed and polished stainless steel, boasting a striking black tropical dial whose indexes have been given the Super-LumiNova treatment which gives out a vintage-effect look we all love!

Takeaway

As previously mentioned, the pieces in this special edition series have been cased inside brushed and polished stainless steel and have a black tropical dial to boot. Their sapphire-crystal and hesalite glass protecting all dials have a subtle, laser engraved Omega logo.

You will see that each watch is presented and delivered in a beautifully designed special Swiss oak box that is directly informed by the 1957 packaging, with a Seahorse on the top. The package also comes with two spare straps, a graceful touch from Omega that includes leather and NATO options, and a wooden spring bar changing tool.

You can also get all three of the stunning watches in one go, Omega also opened the trilogy as a set but it is only limited to just 557 pieces.

With Omega running in the watch history for so long already, it is still very fascinating for them to go back to classics while incorporating the touch of modern technology and design. These Omega special edition watches are top-notch and the fact that these are only limited just tells that it is not an opportunity that you should miss. Grab your own piece!
