If you need a roofing job done, then you probably need it done quickly. A leak or other repair needed typically can’t afford to wait very long. The problem is, finding the right commercial roofing company for the job can take time.
There are often lots of roofing companies near you that could do the job, but you want to make sure you’re getting the best value and quality in your area. This article will tell you all the things you need to do when searching for roofing companies in your area.
Get A Referral For A Roofing Company
One of the simplest and most effective places to start is by getting a referral from someone you know. If they’ve already used a contractor in your area, they’ll know whether or not they are good to work with.
Asking friends can go both ways, too. Maybe your friend had a great experience with a certain company. But, maybe they had a terrible experience or really overpaid for the quality of work they received.
If that’s the case, at least you can cross that contractor off your list. However, what if there’s no one in your area who can refer you to someone?
Check Online Reviews For Roofing Companies
Another great way to narrow down your search is to check out reviews online. This can give you a good picture of the kinds of experiences other clients had with different roofing companies.
This is especially helpful if you don’t have any personal referrals. Online reviews can serve the same purpose of either pointing you to a great contractor or away from a sub-par one.
Websites like Angie’s List, HomeAdvisor, or Thumbtack can all be great resources for this. Not only can they show you what options are out there, but they can also show you reviews from real people who have worked with them. This is invaluable when choosing between so many different roofing companies.
Make Sure The Roofing Companies Have Insurance
While some of you might think about this, it may not be obvious to everyone. If you’re going to hire a roofing company to do a job at your home or business, you want to make sure they’re covered.
There are different types of insurance roofing companies can have. You need to make sure they have both worker’s compensation and liability insurance. This protects you and the roofing company in case of an accident.
Although you may not expect it, accidents do happen. Moreover, the last thing you want is for an unexpected accident to cost you a lot more money than you planned for.
Get Quotes From Roofing Companies
Once you’ve narrowed it down to a few options based on referrals and reviews, it’s time to get some quotes. There are multiple ways to go about this. You can contact Mighty Dog Roofing Southwest Houston for a quote or estimate.
If you want to, you can call each individual contractor. You can give them the details of the job and see how much they would charge. Or, you can use a service online like GetYourQuote.com.
GetYourQuote.com offers free quotes for roofing companies and other contractors online. All you have to do is contact them with your area, the details of your project, and your desired timeline. They take care of the rest.
GYQ has an extensive database of roofing companies across some of the biggest cities in the country. In addition, each of those contractors is already vetted by GYQ, so you know you’re going to get quality work from them.
Keep in mind, the cheapest option may not always be the best. Often times in contracting work, you get what you pay for. That being said, any roofing company registered with GYQ has been proven to do good work.
Meet With The Roofing Companies
After you’ve done your research online and gotten quotes from a few companies, it’s time to sit down and talk with them. Depending on the circumstances, you can either schedule a phone call or have the roofing companies come out to look at the work that needs to be done.
It’s important to talk with the contractors before hiring anybody. You want to verify everything you’ve read online and make sure they are a good fit for the job.
Meeting them in person is ideal. If this isn’t a possibility, try to schedule a Skype or phone call.
Hire A Roofing Company
At this stage, you should have narrowed down which contractor you want to hire for the job. All that’s left to do is hire them!
